They play a key role in the ongoing management of fire safety in the workplace.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Is it essential my business has designated fire wardens?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Having a designated fire warden complies with The \u201cRegulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order\u201d 2005, part(b) in particular:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProcedures for serious and imminent danger and for danger areas\u201d<\/p>\n<p>15.\u2014(1) The responsible person must\u2014<\/p>\n<p>(a)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 establish and, where necessary, give effect to appropriate procedures, including safety drills, to be followed in the event of serious and imminent danger to relevant persons;<\/p>\n<p>(b)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 nominate a sufficient number of competent persons to implement those procedures in so far as they relate to the evacuation of relevant persons from the premises\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The number of fire wardens your business needs will depend on whether your business is classed as a low, medium, or high risk environment.
