There are no formal entry requirements. However, learners are expected to have completed a Level 4 qualification in fire safety and have a good working knowledge of Approved Document B.
This is a specialist technical course designed to develop professional competence in applying BS 9991.
Assessment is through written assignments based on applied residential design scenarios.
Learners may progress to advanced fire engineering or Level 5 fire safety qualifications, including the SFJ Awards Level 5 Diploma in Fire Engineering Design.
