A big well done to everyone from Compass who took part in the Race For Life 2021 in Blackburn yesterday! All together 14 team members and two dogs took part – they have managed to raise over £500 for Cancer Research UK and that number is still rising!
The team at Compass decided to raise money for Cancer Research UK in support of friend and colleague, Chris Bentham, who was diagnosed with Myeloma earlier this year. Myeloma is a type of blood cancer arising from plasma cells – at any one time there are around 24,000 people living with myeloma in the UK, accounting for 15% of blood cancers, and 2% of all cancers.
Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years and consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
If you would still like to donate you can do so here.
