Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (England)
This is a new , and the first, regulated qualification for Occupational Health Technicians, developed in association with the Society of Occupational Medicine (SoM).
Our blended learning approach offers classroom training and assessments supported by assignments done in your own time.
This is the NEW Highfield Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (RQF) (England) which has been developed for those who manage care and support services within the adult care sector (England).
The qualification aims to develop learners’ knowledge and skills in leading and managing adult social care provision and teams, responsibilities of leaders and managers, improvement and innovation, communication, values and behaviours, health and safety and professional behaviours of leaders and managers.
You can start this course anytime and it will take up to 18 months to complete.
Classroom attendance is not required, as the qualification is delivered within the workplace. You will be assigned a tutor/assessor at the beginning of the course, who will work with you throughout the programme.

In addition to this, you will also choose additional optional units.
To enrol onto this course you must:
- Be aged over 19 years old.
- Have access to the appropriate workplace and role to be able to
successfully meet the knowledge and skills requirements of this qualification. - it is advised that learners have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent and be able to demonstrate prior achievement of
qualifications at either level 3 or 4.

No. There are no mandatory entry requirements although you do need to be in a relevant role so you can be assessed. it is also advisable to have a L3 or L4 qualification in care.
When you enrol, you are provided with a logon to our online platform. This guides you through:
- Your induction and introduction to your qualification
- Some reading material followed by questions you need to answer
- What documents you need to upload
- Your workplace visit requirements
- Your Assessor gets in touch within 7-10 days of your enrolment and will then give you feedback on how you’re doing each step of the way, until your completion.
Your portfolio is managed on our online Learning Platform. We have a dedicated Customer Service team in case you run into any difficulties who can talk you through how it works. There are also some helpful videos along the way to give you some hints and tips.
The qualification is completed and assessed in English although we will make every effort to accommodate any special requirements you have.
All registration fees, travel expenses and vat is included in the price. You have access to the online portfolio system for 24 months. If you have not completed by this time you may need to pay additional fees.
Yes – your Assessor will support you to enable you to complete this qualification.
Bring a list of the medication with you to the appointment and show to the occupational health nurse or technician.
You will be informed that you have not met the standards for a safety critical worker and the reason why. You may be offered advice on what you can do and will be referred to either your GP or an Occupational Health Physician. Once you have received treatment for the reason you did not pass, your may be able to receive another safety critical medical.
You will be asked to complete and sign a consent form prior to the medical this will include your permission to share any relevant information with other health professionals and your employer.
