NEBOSH Health & Safety Management for Construction Certificate (UK)

The NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK) provides a broad understanding of construction related health & safety issues and is an essential qualification for anyone with health & safety responsibilities in the construction industry.

The qualification is ideal for: construction site managers, contracts managers, site workers with health & safety responsibilities and construction health & safety advisors.

The course is made up of presentations, question and answer sessions, activities and projects.  End of course assessment is a scenario based Open Book Exam completed at home. It will take around 8 hours and you have 48 hours to complete the assessment and return it to NEBOSH.  The tutor will support the learner’s knowledge and understanding by classroom and individual discussion.

The NEBOSH H&S Management for Construction (UK) is made up of one unit:

• Improving health and safety culture and assessing risk
• Managing change and procedures

• Mobile plant and vehicles
• Working at height
• Musculoskeletal health and load handling

• Fire
• Chemical and biological agents
• Physical and psychological health

With an emphasis on practical application, successful learners will be able to:

• Recognise, assess and control a range of common construction hazards
• Develop safe systems of work
• Take part in incident investigations
• Advise on the roles, competencies and duties under construction legislation
• Positively influence health and safety culture
• Confidently challenge unsafe behaviours
• Help manage contractors.

NEBOSH will issue successful delegates the certificate upon successful assessment.

Why can I only see one date for In-person classroom and Online Classroom learning options?

Our In-person Hybrid Classroom courses and our Virtual Online Classroom courses run in tandem with each other, so will always fall on the same dates.

Attendance commitments

Classroom learning takes place over 10 days. Due to our extensive background in the construction industry, we know that those who have health & safety responsibilities in construction are usually very busy people! For this reason, we break up the 10 day course into two weeks (usually with a break in between) consisting of 5 days of study.

What if I cannot attend all of the course dates?

Relax – Compass design their Online and In-Person Classroom courses to be as flexible as possible. If you know in advance any course dates you will miss, simply inform our admin team who will give you early access to the Compass eLearning Portal before your chosen course dates. The tutor will then be in touch to let you know what you will need to study beforehand in order to catch up on anything missed. Many students appreciate how easy it is to fit Compass courses around their life, and have found access to the Compass eLearning Portal to be a valuable additional resource.

2. Decide if you want to attend one of our hybrid classrooms in Chorley, in the heart of the North West (in person classroom with the option to switch to a virtual classroom) or a virtual classroom (live stream of a classroom course, participation enabled online).
3. Book your choice online by clicking ‘see course dates’ below, and choosing your preferred options mentioned above. You can also call us on 03333580340 if you would like to book over the phone if you would like to use a payment plan, or just want some general advice.
4. Once a payment has been received, you will receive your course booking confirmation.

There are no specific entry requirements for this course.  NEBOSH recommend that delegates have a minimum standard of English, as they must be able to understand and communicate the concepts in the course content, and complete the written exam and practical assessment. Delegates should have a basic knowledge of health and safety, and an understanding of what happens in their workplace. The information you will need to know for the practical assessment and the exams will be covered in the course.
