The SFJ Awards Level 2 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security Awareness provides learners with the knowledge and understanding needed to support terrorism protection awareness within venues, sites and organisations.
The qualification develops understanding of the terrorism threat context, common terrorist attack methods, the requirements of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, and the importance of vigilance, reporting and appropriate immediate response actions.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. Compass will ensure that learners are able to complete the qualification at the appropriate level, for example through a skills scan where appropriate.
Yes. The SFJ Awards Level 2 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security Awareness is a regulated qualification in England and Wales.
The qualification is assessed through a multiple-choice examination, set by SFJ Awards and delivered by an approved centre under examination conditions.
The examination consists of 25 questions, has a pass mark of 80%, and learners have 40 minutes to complete it. The assessment is administered through the SFJ Awards e-assessment platform.
The qualification can support progression into further learning and development in counter-terrorism awareness, protective security and organisational preparedness.
Learners may progress to further SFJ Awards qualifications, including the SFJ Awards Level 3 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security and Preparedness, where appropriate to their role and responsibilities.
