SFJ Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety (Fire Inspectors)
This qualification is aimed at those in an enforcing role and those from the private sector in roles such as Facilities Management or Building Control Officers.
This qualification is an enhanced level 4 and includes the units within the Level 4 Certificate (If you have already completed the Level 4 Certificate, you can choose to attend just for the Level 4 Diploma dates). The classroom can be attended either virtually or in person. It is a combination of specialist fire safety areas including:
- Premises under construction, demolition or alteration
- Fire safety regulation including enforcement and prosecution
- Fire safety building regulations and guidanceĀ
The total duration is a minimum of 25 days classroom training plus self study and distance learning equivalent.
Level 4 Certificate (3 weeks classroom plus self study)
Week 1 – Foundations of fire safety in complex premises
Week 2 – Auditing and inspecting complex premises
Week 3 – Fire Safety in Regulated and Licenced Premises
Level 4 Diploma: Building Regulations (9 days classroom plus self study)

Optional Units:
You must achieve a minimum of 7 credits, so this is something to consider when choosing your optional units. You can choose from the following additional units:

There are no pre-entry requirements for enrolling to complete this qualification but the learner is likely to have significant experience in fire safety.
Those learners who have completed the Level 4 Certificate in Fire Safety (Fire Auditors) will not have to repeat units that they have previously achieved.

- Decide if you want to attend one of our hybrid classrooms (in person classroom with the option to switch to a virtual classroom) or a virtual classroom (live stream of a classroom course, participation enabled online).
- If you have not already completed the Level 4 Certificate, you will need to select that the option ‘Certificate and Diploma’. If you have already completed this qualification, then select ‘Diploma Only’.

- Once a payment has been received, you will receive your course booking confirmation.

The price for booking this qualification depends on whether or not you need to include the Level 4 Certificate (and also your preferred delivery method – either in person or virtual). Prices can be seen when booking course dates here.
Once you have chosen, your preferred learning options, the only other additional expense will be the cost of the additional optional units. You can see more on how this is priced hereĀ under the section ‘Optional Units.
As you may want to speak to your tutor regarding which combination of optional units are right for you, we do not include the cost of the optional units at the initial time of booking. We will make contact with you after your initial booking to arrange payment for your optional units, giving you time to decide which ones you want to do.

Our training centre in Chorley is fully accessible with the main training room located on the ground floor. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet on the ground floor and a wheelchair accessible lift to the first floor.
Yes, within the cost of the course there is a buffet lunch, hot and cold drinks and biscuits for those attending in person.
If you are attending our Hybrid course and would prefer to split the payment for this course you can pay in 2 or 3 instalments, as long as the final payment is made before you take the exam.Ā Please call our admin team who can set this up for you.Ā Please note there is an additional admin fee of Ā£50 added to the first instalment for this option.
