Level 2 Award in Carrying Out Fire Safety Checks
The objective of this qualification is to provide the knowledge and skills to a range of individuals who have responsibility for undertaking fire safety checks. The qualification is aimed at those within Fire and Rescue Services who are required to identify and report on fire safety issues as part of their role i.e. checking a fire risk assessment is in place and identifying and escalating any fire safety issues.
The aim of a Fire Safety Check is to minimise risk in residential and/or workplaces. Premises subject to fire safety checks covered by this qualification exclude single private dwellings, which are covered by Home Fire Safety Visits.
Those undertaking fire safety checks should identify and report issues and outcomes to specialist fire safety personnel where appropriate.
The qualification is made up of 2 mandatory units delivered over 3 days (20 hours TQT).

Understand hazards and risks associated with the impact of fire
Understand risk assessment and control measures to mitigate risks from fire
Unit 2
Carry out fire safety checks
Be able to prepare for visitors to premises to carry out fire safety checks
Be able to carry out fire safety checks
Be able to report fire hazards and risks following fire safety checks
There are no formal entry requirements. However, learners should be able to work at level 1 or above and be proficient in the use of English Language.

Our training centre in Chorley is fully accessible with the main training room located on the ground floor. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet on the ground floor and a wheelchair accessible lift to the first floor.
Yes, within the cost of the course there is a buffet lunch, hot and cold drinks and biscuits for those attending in person.
If you are attending our Hybrid course and would prefer to split the payment for this course you can pay in 2 or 3 instalments, as long as the final payment is made before you take the exam. Please call our admin team who can set this up for you. Please note there is an additional admin fee of £50 added to the first instalment for this option.
