CITB Site Manager Safety Training Scheme Refresher £324
This two day course runs for two consecutive days.
The SMSTS-R is a 2 day course designed for those who have previously passed the Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course, or a subsequent refresher course.
The SMSTS-R brings your health and safety knowledge up to date and provides a thorough overview of the legislative changes and their impact in the workplace. It builds on the material in the original course as well as introducing new subjects, with the CITB exam at the end of the course. The Tutor will support candidates knowledge and understanding by classroom and individual discussion.
Upon successful completion of the course CITB will issue the SMSTS-R certificate which is valid for 5 years.
The SMSTS-R course covers:
- Updated health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation which affects your management role;
- New guidance and industry best practice, and how to implement it;
- Your duties and responsibilities with regards to health, safety, welfare and the environment, and how to fulfil them.
Is there any prior knowledge I need before coming on the course?
An understanding of how a site operates. The tutor is there to assist with group tasks and activities.
What if English is not my first language?
It is a CITB requirement that the candidate is able to read, write and understand English to a good level.

Our training centre in Chorley is fully accessible with the main training room located on the ground floor. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet on the ground floor and a wheelchair accessible lift to the first floor.
Yes, within the cost of the course there is a buffet lunch, hot and cold drinks and biscuits for those attending in person.
ELCAS funding is available to eligible learners.
The CITB levy may also be used for eligible companies.
