Diploma in Occupational Health Practice
The principal aim of this course is to provide learners with a grounding in occupational health and to prepare them for the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FOM) Diploma in Occupational Health Practice examination (DipOHPrac). It is a qualification designed to help registered healthcare professionals working in occupational health progress their careers; and help others to move into occupational health.
The qualification is open to Registered Nurses, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. It is hoped the course will be open to other registered health care professionals in the near future.
Compass is approved by Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FOM), Royal College of Physicians, London to provide this course.
Ten days, delivered one day a week over ten weeks.
Completing the SFJ Awards Level 5 Diploma in Fire Engineering Design (Technician) opens up several career advancement opportunities, including:
- Senior Fire Engineer: Take on more complex projects and lead teams in designing fire safety systems.

The course is approved for all eligible nursing professionals (national and international) who wish to prepare for the FOM Diploma in Occupational Health Practice examination. Other health care professionals wishing to learn more about occupational health and obtain a Certificate of Attendance for the course are also welcome.
The course will be delivered on-line (using MS Teams) over 10 days and will include lectures, presentations, workshops and knowledge assessments. Delivery will be Nurse-led, by experienced and specialist occupational health practitioners.
Reference material will be based upon UK practice and legislation.

All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.  Delegates are required to attend at least 90% of the course to be eligible to sit the DipOHPrac examination administered by Faculty of Occupational Medicine. This examination consists of a Multiple Choice Exam; Portfolio; Professional Discussion which must be completed within 5 years of attending the course. More information on these can be found at: https://www.fom.ac.uk/education/examinations/diplomas/dipohprac

Our training centre in Chorley is fully accessible with the main training room located on the ground floor. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet on the ground floor and a wheelchair accessible lift to the first floor.
Lunch is not provided, but drinks and light refreshments are available free of charge from the canteen. Kitchen facilities are also available for you to heat or prepare your own food.
If you are attending our Hybrid course and would prefer to split the payment for this course you can pay in 2 or 3 instalments, as long as the final payment is made before you take the exam. Please call our admin team who can set this up for you. Please note there is an additional admin fee of £50 added to the first instalment for this option.
