COURSE AWARD(S) Level 3 Learning and Skills Mentor
DURATION Typically 12 months, excluding End Point Assessment
SUMMARY The role of the learning and skills mentor can be found in all sectors where learning, training and development is required. For example, healthcare, education or construction. The purpose of the learning and skills mentor is to support individuals and groups with their learning and development towards agreed goals.
INTAKE DATES We are now accepting Expressions of Interest for a cohort to commence in January 2026. We need a minimum of 10 learners to confirm the intake date. To Express an Interest please complete this form.
Candidates may have achieved maths, English and ICT skills at Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE Grade C, or above) prior to commencing their training. Those that have not will be provided with support should they want to achieve this.
The learning and skills mentor works in an environment where they are the knowledgeable one and will be responsible for the mentor relationship with the mentee working within ethical and legal frameworks and organisational boundaries.
End Point Assessment will consist of 3 elements:
- Knowledge questions
- Observation
- Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
Full support will be provided to candidates during the Gateway period at the end of their Apprenticeship to prepare them for this End Point Assessment.
£5000 paid via the apprenticeship service account.
Employer contribution is 5% or £250 (only payable by employers who do not pay the apprenticeship levy.
