The Compass NVQ Level 7 Construction Senior Management programme is aimed at experienced Construction Senior Managers. Our unique approach can help you complete in as little as twelve weeks. If you have the right amount of experience, but not the right qualification – this route is ideal. Compass have helped hundreds of Managers get their Black CSCS card which is a nationally recognised standard in the construction industry.

Whichever pathway you select, the Compass core modules will include:
- Managing People
- Managing Teams
- Ethical Management
- Managing Meetings
- Managing Project Processes
Unlike most qualifications, this NVQ takes place mainly at work and you can decide how long it takes you to complete – most experienced Senior Managers complete within 3 to 6 months.
- You will demonstrate your performance by uploading documents, such as reports; minutes for the core modules. We give you a list of which documents you need to provide
- Your knowledge of construction senior management is captured through written questions
- An Assessor will come and visit you, to see you in action and he will review your evidence with you – we have Assessors located across the country so we can come to wherever you’re working in mainland England
- Your chosen pathway specific units and optional units are assessed with you during your Assessor visit.
- Be over 19 years old.
- Currently be in a construction senior management role with oversight over multiple high value and/or complexity projects.
- Working in mainland England.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. There are no entry requirements although you do need to be in a senior management role so you can be assessed. If you are new to senior management you will still be able to enrol onto the qualification although it may talk you longer to complete it as you pull the evidence together.
When you enrol, you are provided with a logon to our online platform. This guides you through:
- Your induction and introduction to your qualification
- Some reading material followed by questions you need to answer
- What documents you need to upload
- Your site visit requirements
- Your Assessor gets in touch within 7-10 days of your enrolment and will then give you feedback on how you’re doing each step of the way, until your completion.
Your portfolio is managed on our online Learning Platform. We have a dedicated Customer Service team in case you run into any difficulties who can talk you through how it works. There are also some helpful videos along the way to give you some hints and tips.
The qualification is completed and assessed in English although we will make every effort to accommodate any special requirements you have.
All registration fees, travel expenses and vat is included in the price. You have access to the online portfolio system for 12 months. If you have not completed by this time you will need to pay an additional £25/month for continued access.

Any additional needs you have will be addressed by your assessor in your initial assessment, and reasonable adjustments can be made by your assessor in order to support you to complete your qualification.
This depends on each individual. The average completion for a Level 6 is 3-6 months, however it can be completed in less than 8 weeks. You are supported by your Assessor for twelve months after which you will be dormant on our system.

If you or your employer pays CITB levy, then you will be able to claim back a grant from CITB towards the cost of the course. See CITB for what grants eligible employers can claim upon completion.
This qualification is certificated by NOCN who will issue your certificate when you complete.
Once you complete your portfolio, and you have passed through our internal quality assurance process, we claim your certificate from NOCN who then sends an e-certificate, which can take up to 10 working days. We will email you an electronic copy of the certificate as soon as we receive it. Hard copies of certificates are not essential when applying for your black CSCS card. If you want a hard copy of your certificate this is an additional cost.
