Display: Minimum resolution 1024 x 768 in 16-bit colour
Internet browser: The most recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari
Internet connection: For optimal performance, a reliable and stable connection speed of 3 Mbps down and 2 Mbps up is required. Tethering to a mobile hotspot is explicitly prohibited
Webcam, sound, and microphone: Webcam must have a minimum resolution of 640 x 480 @ 10 fps. Mac users may need to allow OnVUE within their ‘System Preferences: Security & Privacy: Privacy’ settings for the microphone, camera, automation and input monitoring

- You’ll sit a 30-minute multiple-choice exam
- There are 25 questions to answer: 20 worth 1 mark, 5 worth 2 marks.
- The pass mark is of 25 out of 30
- Before you start, you’ll be required to present a valid photographic ID (a passport or UK/EU driving licence)
- Individuals aged 16 to 18 years old will need a parent or guardian to attend the exam check-in process with Pearson VUE.

Upon passing your exam, you’ll receive:
- Access to your ‘score report’ from our examination provider, Pearson VUE, showing your pass mark.
- A digital certificate, confirming you have successfully completed the course. This will be available to download from your CITB eCourses Dashboard and is valid for five years.
The certificate is equivalent to the Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment and can be used along with the CITB Health and Safety Environment Test for Operatives to support your application for a CSCS labourer card.
