This Level 3 Award – Review Health and Safety Procedures in the Workplace has been developed to prepare learners to carry out a review of Health & Safety procedures of a specified workplace to meet established standards. It is Unit 8 (formally HSS8) of the Level 3 NVQ Award.
DURATION
The training will be delivered in a 1-day learning programme and self-study. The qualification is competency based and assessed through the collation of evidence and structured questioning/professional discussion and reflection.
AIMS
The aim of the training is to prepare learners to research, plan and prepare to carry out a review, to then conduct a review to check if relevant mandatory health, safety and welfare requirements are being implemented, and reporting and recording the findings of such reviews to provide a robust internal and external audit trail in accordance with agreed procedures.
CONTENT
The 1-day learning programme sets out the following:
- Main provisions of Health & Safety legislation
- Risk assessment principles
- Consider moral/legal obligations and good health and safety practice in the workplace
- The importance of rapport and relationship building
- Documentation and records for work area/practices being reviewed
- Preparation/planning and conducting the review
- Good practice in recording and reporting procedures
- Underpinning knowledge requirements relevant to L3 Award Review Health & Safety Procedures in Workplace
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no entry requirements for this award. You will need to review a minimum of 2 workplaces.
CERTIFICATION
Upon successful completion of the course, Learners will receive a certificate issued
by a body approved by Ofqual.
