COURSE AWARD(S) L3 Fire Safety Advisor; SFJ Awards Level 3 Certificate in Fire Safety (Fire Auditors)
DURATION Typically 18 months, excluding End Point Assessment
SUMMARY A Fire Safety Advisor works with businesses to help them keep their premises safe from fire by offering advice and education to reduce risk. People in this role also recognise and take appropriate steps when enforcement action may be required.
INTAKE DATES January, April, and September each year.
Individual employers will set their own selection criteria for this apprenticeship. Typically an apprentice might be expected to have achieved or working towards 5 GCSEs A* to C including English and Maths as well as having knowledge to Level 1 equivalent for commonly used office computer applications.
This apprenticeship is offered with the mandatory qualification delivered either “fast-track” (with the Level 3 Certificate course delivered within the first 3 months) or with the Level 3 Certificate course spread throughout the length of the apprenticeship. End Point Assessment will consist of 2 elements:
- Workplace observation;
- Structured discussion.
Full support will be provided to candidates during the Gateway period at the end of their Apprenticeship to prepare them for this End Point Assessment.
Total cost = £6000. Employers that do not pay into the levy will contribute 5% (£300).
